Get Him to Ask You to Prom

You've got the perfect dress, awesome after-prom plans, and a great group of friends for the limo ride. Now all you're missing is a date! Chances are you've had your eye on your dream date even before your dream dress. Whether you're already chatting during homeroom or you're just crushing on him from afar, these tips will have him shopping for your corsage in no time!
GET IN HIS FACE
Absence may make the heart grow fonder, but when it comes to getting a date to the prom, it's "out of sight, out of mind"! No need to pitch a tent and camp outside his locker, but make sure you're fresh in his mind. Stay in his line of vision when you're grabbing lunch with your friends in the cafeteria and give him a wave when you see him across the auditorium at the next assembly. Become a familiar face and he'll feel more comfortable asking you to be his date than if you haven't spoken to him since eighth grade.
GIVE HIM AN OPENING
If hinting at going to prom together is this nerve-wracking, imagine how hard it is to actually ask! Next time he asks you what you did over the weekend, mention the cool movie you saw after you bought your prom dress. It'll give him a natural way to segue into asking you if you have someone to go with yet.
GET FRIENDLY
Is he all about school spirit? Get a group of friends together for the next pep rally. Are you starring in the school play? Invite him and his buddies to give you a standing ovation, and then see if they want to grab a bite to eat afterward. Whether you're already friends or just getting to know each other, seeing more of each other, even in a group setting, helps him to get to know what a great girl (and date) you are!
SPREAD THE WORD
Who says gossip is a bad thing? Bring up the topic of prom with a friend when the school gossip is within earshot, and then mention what a fun date you think he'd make. Keep your cool and focus on what great dance moves he has or on how he's always the life of the party. Chances are, he'll hear about it by fifth period, and then the ball will be in his court.
BE A LONER
Make sure he sees you around school minus your group of friends once in a while. No guys wants to ask a girl out in front of 13 of her closest friends, so hang back on your way out of class once in a while.
JUST ASK!
If he's still clueless, it might be time to do the unthinkable — ask him to prom! The great thing about asking a guy to go to prom with you is that even if you're crushing on him, you can play it off like you're just asking because he's a fun guy. Ask him if he has a date yet and then say, "You know who you would have a great time with? Me." If he doesn't take the bait, just laugh it off and say, "Your loss!" with a smile.
Remember, whether you end up going with your dream guy or partying the night away with your friends, have a blast with the best date there is — yourself!
