Meet Havanna
“The Busy Bee”
When she's not sketching and sewing, Havanna is running around New York City on her way to dance lessons, practice with the McDonald's Gospel Choir, gymnastics classes, or community activism meetings with her mom. But don’t expect this multitasker to show stress -- she's prone to be the class clown and play tricks on her teachers! It's no surprise that this fashionista designs with comfort in mind. She loves wearing jeans and layering cardigans over cotton tees, but she glams it up with sparkly earrings. When designing, she favors fabrics that blow in the wind and move with the body, like organza.
On My iPod:
"What's Your Name" by Usher
"Sandcastle Disco" by Solange
"Luv" by Janet Jackson
"Freedom is a Voice" by Bobby Mcferrin
Favorite Fashion Trend:
I love leggings! You can make them go with pretty much anything.
Best Thing About Going to a Fashion High School:
Getting the chance to have fashion as a major. Yes, we get math and history and all the other academic courses, but we also get to draw and sew.
Worst Thing About Going to a Fashion High School:
THERE ARE NO BOYS!!!!!! I mean, we do have boys in our school, but it is like 85% girls and like 10% of date-able boys. But even if you're lucky enough to get a guy in the school, he would probably want to be a player and have other girls on each floor behind your back. So you really don't want to date a guy in my school! Half of the fights among girls are because of a guy! Sad but simple truth.
My Prom Date:
I will be taking my friend from my dance team, Aglaya. She is from Holland and over there, they hear about prom in America but it is not their custom. She loves proms but never really had a chance to go to one, so I am going to take her to mine!
